1. WHAT BONJELA COOL MINT GEL IS AND k WHAT IT IS USED FOR


jBonjela Cool Mint Gel is used to

i* relieve the p)ain and discomfort frf common jmouth ulcers and cold sores, i i* aid healing (if sore spots and uljcers due to Ventures and braces.

“BonjeTa Cool Mint Cells a dear, almost colourless gel, which is applied to the inside of the mouth or gums. It contains! choline salicylate (4 pain killer and anti-inflammatory) which soothes sore areas in the mouth and an antiseptic called cetalkonium chloride, which kjlls bacteria and heljis prevent infection.

Bonjela Cool Mint Gel is intended for adults and children over the agje of 16.


2. BEFORE YOU USE BONJELA COOL MINT GEL!


As with all medicines, Bonjela Cool Mint Gel may ! not be suitable frjr everybody. i    !

Do not    !    !    !

•    give to childrens or adolescents uijder 16 years j

of age. This is because there is a possible link i between salicylates and Reye's syndrome when ! given to children. Reye's syndromejis a very rare disease which affects the brain and liver and can be fatal.    j    j    j

•    use if you are suffering from a stomach ulcer

•    use if you are a|llergic to salicylates! or to any of ! the other ingredients in this product j

Taking other medicines

Salicylates may increase the effect of! blood i thinning medicines (anticoagulants) and can ' decrease the effect of medicines to treat gout ! (uricosurics) suchj as probenic acid, j benzbromarone.    i    i    i

Bonjela Cool Mint Gel contains aismall amount of ethanol (alcojiol), less than 100njg per dose.


3. HOW TO USE BONJELA COOL MINT GEL


For adults and children over the age of 16 years only. !    !

-    Mouth ulcets and sores

Massage approximately one centimetre (half an inch) of Bonjela Cool Mint Gel onjto the sore area. This can be repeated after 3 hours.

-    Denture sofes

Massage approximately one centimetre of Bonjela Cool Mint Gel onto the sore area) and leave at least 30 minutes before reinsertirig the dentures. Do not apply Bonjela Cool Mint Gel directly onto the dentures.)    )

Do not exceed the stated dose as salicylate toxicity may (occur as a result. !

If your symptpms do not go away after 7 days of treatment you should see your doctor or dentist.

In the case of a missed dose, sirjiply apply a new dose and follow the instructions described above. In the event pf an overdose, sedk medical advice. If you have aijiy further questionsjon the use of this product ask your doctor or pharmacist.


4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS


Like all medidnes, Bonjela Cool Mint Gel can cause side effects, although not Everybody gets them.

Allergic reactions to salicylates ) such as an asthma attack may occur. I

5. HOW TO STORE BONJELA COOL MINT GEL


Keep out of the teach and sight of children.

Do not use Bonjela Cool Mint Gel afjer the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the tube. The expiry date refers to the lajst day of that month.

Do not store above 25°C.

Medicines shoultjf not be disposed of) via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how fo dispose of medicjnes no longer required. These measures will help to protect the ' environment. )

What Bonjela Cool Mint Gel contains

The active ingredients (which make the medicine work) are cholinh salicylate 8.714% \nIw, cetalkonium chloride 0.01 % w/w. The other ingredients are ethanol, glycerol, menthol, hypromellose 451)10, mint flavour, sodjum saccharin and water.    i
