Napiers Herbease Chesty Cough Lozenges is a traditional herbal medicinal product containing Liquorice root extract, Senega root, Ipecacuanha root and Marshmallow root. For full details see Section 6.
Napiers Herbease Chesty Cough Lozenges is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the relief of sore throats and chesty coughs, based on traditional use only.
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS
PRODUCT
Do not take this product if you:
• are under 18 years old
• are pregnant or breastfeeding
• are allergic to any of the ingredients
• are taking other liquorice containing products
• have high blood pressure, kidney diseases, liver or heart problems or hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood)
• are taking medicines for high blood pressure, diuretics, cardiac glycosides, corticosteroids, stimulant laxatives or other medications which may aggravate electrolyte imbalance
Important information about some of the ingredients in this medicine
This product contains approx. 826 mg of sucrose and 68 mg of glucose per lozenge. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
3. HOW TO TAKE THIS PRODUCT
For oral use only.
Adults and the eldery:
One or two lozenges to be sucked every four hours. Maximum daily dose: 12 lozenges.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
If you have difficulty breathing, , fever or blood in your saliva, a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner should be consulted.
If your symptoms persist after 7days, speak to your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.
If you take too much (overdose).
If you take more than the recommended dose, speak to a doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner and take this leaflet with you.
If you forget to take this product
Continue to take your usual dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose. It does not matter if you miss a dose.
If you have any questions, or are unsure of anything, please speak to your doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
No side effects have been reported with this product.

5. HOW TO STORE THIS PRODUCT
Do not use this product after the expiry date.

Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original container.
There are no special | precautions for disposal.
Keep this product out of the reach and sight of children.

What is Senega root?
Pleurisy root, or senega, is a flowering plant native to North America and used in Britain since the 1700s. An extract from the dried root is used to make this medicine.
What is Liquorice root?
Liquorice is a herbaceaous perennial plant native to southern Europe and grown in the British Isles. An extract from the root is used to make this medicine.
What is Ipecacuanha root?
Ipecacuanha is a flowering plant native to Brazil and used in Britain since the 1600s. An extract from the root is used to make this medicine.
What is Marshmallow?
Marshmallow or marsh mallow is a pretty flowering herb native to the British Isles. The root is used in making this medicine.
