Napiers Pro-Vitality Herbal Tablets

is a traditional herbal medicinal product containing Cola seed and extracts of Damiana leaf and Saw Palmetto fruit. For full details see Section 6.

Napiers Pro-Vitality Herbal Tablets

is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to relieve fatigue, exhaustion and debility, based on traditional use only.


Do not take this product if you:

•    are under 18 years old

•    are pregnant or breastfeeding

•    are allergic to any of the ingredients

•    have liver or kidney problems

•    have surgery planned

•    have a stomach ulcer, cardiovascular problems such as high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat or have an overactive thyroid.

Important information about some of the ingredients in this medicine

This product contains 45.2 mg of sucrose and 45mg of lactose per tablet. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.

The product should be discontinued prior to planned surgery due to the possible increased risk of bleeding associated with Saw Pametto.

Taking other medicines:

Patients taking MAO-inhibitor medicines (antidepressants) should use products containing Cola seed with caution. Products containing Cola seed, like other products containing caffeine, reduce the action of sedative medicines and increase side effects caused by some medicines used to treat heart conditions.

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine if you are taking any of the above medicines or any other medicines, including any bought with a prescription.


For oral use only.

Adults and the elderly:

One or two tablets three times a day.

Do not exceed the stated dose.

If your symptoms worsen or persist after one week, speak to your doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner.

Not recommended before bedtime , as it may cause sleep disturbances.

If you take too much (overdose).

If you take more than the recommended dose, speak to a doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner and take this leaflet with you.

If you forget to take this product

Continue to take your usual dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose. It does not matter if you miss a dose.

If you have any questions, or are unsure of anything, please speak to your doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner.


Rare cases of allergic reactions, burping and gastrointestinal discomfort have been reported with Saw palmetto.

There has been one case report of intraoperative haemorrhage associated with the use of Saw palmetto.

If other adverse reactions not mentioned above occur, a doctor or qualified health care practitioner should be consulted.

Making medicines safer

You can help to make medicines safer by reporting any side-effects to the Yellow Card Scheme at Alternatively you can get a paper Yellow Card form from your doctor's surgery or a pharmacy, or call freephone 0808 100 3352 (available 10am-2pm Monday to Friday).


Do not use this product after the expiry date. The expiry date is printed on the label and on the bottom of the carton.

Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original container.

There are no special precautions for disposal.

Keep this product out of the reach and sight of children.


Each tablet contains:

45 mg of Cola seed (Cola nitida (Vent.) Schott et Endl.)

80.5 mg of extract (as dry extract) from Damiana leaf (Turnera diffusa Will.) (100:35) Extraction solvent: Water

11.3 mg of extract (as soft extract) from Saw Palmetto fruit (Serenoa repens (Bartram)) (4:1) Extraction solvent: Water

Each tablet also contains sucrose, lactose, sodium starch glycolate, talc, starch pregelatinised, magnesium stearate, shellac E904, light kaolin and chlorophyll E140.

This product comes in containers of 100 pale green round tablets._

What is Cola?

Cola seed or nut is a bitter, caffeine-containing nut harvested from tropical evergreen trees in West Africa. An extract from the powdered nut is used in this medicine.

What is Damiana?

Damiana is a small shrub with aromatic yellow flowers and fig-like fruit that is native to Texas and Central America. An extract from the leaves is used in this medicine.

What is Saw Palmetto?

Saw Palmetto is a small fan palm native to Florida. An extract from the drupes or 'berries' is used to make this medicine.
