Calcium Carbonate 500mg
3. LIST OF EXCIPIENTS
Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate 500 mg. Also contains icing sugar, dextrose monohydrate, compressible sugar (glucose), starch, talc, magnesium stearate, citric acid. Flavours: blackcurrant, lemon and orange. Colours: violet (E124 & E131), quinoline yellow (E104) and sunset yellow (E110).

Roll contains 12 tablets per roll, three rolls are contained in the carton.

15. INSTRUCTIONS ON USE
How to take:
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: suck or chew 1 to 2 tablets as symptoms occur, up to a maximum of 16 tablets in any 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor.
Elderly: the normal adult dose can be taken by the elderly.
Pregnant women: suck or chew 1 to 2 tablets as symptoms occur, up to a maximum of 7 tablets in any 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor.
Do not give to children under 12 years of age.
Do not take more than the recommended dose.
Do not take:
- For symptoms that persist for more than 7 days, unless advised by a doctor.
- More than the recommended dose, particularly if you are pregnant.
- If you are on a low phosphate diet.
- If you are taking heart tablets called cardiac glycosides (e.g. digoxin)
- If you suffer from kidney disease.
- If you have high blood calcium levels.
- If you are allergic to calcium carbonate or any of the ingredients.
- If you are under 12 years.
Ask your doctor before you take this medicine:
- If you suffer from an inherited sugar absorption problem as each tablet contains up to 0.59g of sucrose/glucose.
- If you suffer from an intolerance to some sugars.
- If symptoms persist.
- If you are taking other medicines, including bisphosphonates (for your bones), tetracyclines (antibiotics) and ciprofloxacin (antiobiotics). Calcium may affect the absorption of other medicines.
- If you become constipated or suffer any other unwanted side effects.
Possible side effects:
You may get constipation, flatulence, nausea and/or belching.
