COMPOUND V (Salicylic acid)

Please read this leaflet carefully before using this product as it contains important information. If you are unsure about this product or have any questions, please ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Compound V contains the following active ingredient:

Salicylic Acid 17% w/w

In addition, it also contains the following inactive ingredients: acetone, industrial methylated spirits, pyroxylin and castor oil

Compound V is a viscous, faintly yellow liquid, which is available in 6.5 ml bottles

USES

For the treatment of verruca (plantar warts)

BEFORE USING COMPOUND V

The following information should be read before using this medicine:

1.    Do not use Compound V if you are sensitive to salicylic acid, or any other ingredients listed at the beginning of this leaflet.

2.    Do not use Compound V on moles, birth marks, or on hairy, genital or facial warts.

3.    Do not use if you suffer from diabetes.

4.    Make sure that Compound V is suitable for you to use - ask your doctor or pharmacist.

5.    For external use only.

DIRECTIONS FOR USING COMPOUND V

For topical application to intact skin. Do not apply to healthy skin or skin which is inflamed or broken.

Adults, the elderly and children:

Apply the liquid to the verruca one drop at a time with dropper-rod until verruca is covered. Allow to dry completely.

Avoid surrounding skin.

Repeat application daily with regular washing for up to twelve weeks.

If the condition persists, consult your doctor.

If the verruca does not dissolve or gets worse, consult your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS

There are no known side effects following use of this product.

If you experience any reaction following use of this product, discontinue use of the product and report this to your doctor or pharmacist who will advise you of any necessary action to take.

STORING THIS PRODUCT

This product has a four year shelf life from the date of manufacture, which is given on the bottle. Do not use Compound V after the date shown on the container.

Compound V should be kept out of the reach and sight of children.
