CUPAL ANTACID SUGAR FREE TABLETS

Please read this leaflet carefully before you start to use this product. If you have any questions, or if you are not sure about anything, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Cupal Antacid Sugar Free Tablets contain the following active ingredients:

Aluminium hydroxide dried gel BP 200mg/tablet Magnesium hydroxide BP 200mg/tablet Simethicone USP 25mg/tablet

In addition they also contain the following inactive ingredients:

Magnesium stearate, peppermint flav-o-lok 610115E, aerosil R972, sorbitol.

Uses

For the relief of indigestion, heartburn, wind and dyspepsia.

Before Using Cupal Antacid Sugar Free Tablets

The following information should be read before using this medicine:

1.    Do not use this product if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients listed at the beginning of this leaflet.

2.    Make sure Cupal Antacid Sugar Free Tablets are suitable for you to use - ask you doctor or pharmacist.

3.    Not to be given to children under 12 years of age, except on the advice of a doctor.

4.    Do not take these tablets if you have kidney problems.

5.    Consult your doctor before taking these tablets if you are currently taking any of the following products: cimetidine, mexilitine, diflunisal, chlorpromazine, ketoconazole, pivampicillin or tetracycline.

6.    Do not take these tablets if you are recuperating from long-term illness or hospitalisation.

7.    Do not take these tablets during the first three months of pregnancy.

8.    Do not take these tablets if you suffer from hypophosphataemia (low blood levels of phosphates).

9.    This product contains 535mg of sorbitol. Each dose supplies up to 1.07g of sorbitol. Unsuitable for those with hereditary fructose intolerance and can cause stomach upset and diarrhoea.

Directions for Use

Adults, the elderly and children aged over 12 years

Two tablets to be sucked or chewed twenty minutes to one hour after meals and at bedtime if required.

If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

In the event of deliberate or accidental overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Side Effects

No side effects have been reported following use of this product. However, should you experience any side effects whilst taking this medicine, then please report it to your doctor or pharmacist who will advise you on the necessary action to take.

Storage

This product has a three year shelf life, its expiry date is given on the carton.

Do not use Cupal Antacid Sugar Free Tablets after the expiry date shown on the carton. Cupal Antacid Sugar Free Tablets should be stored in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children.
