1.    What CX Powder Is and what It Is used for

CX Powder contains Chlorhexidine Acetate BP as the active substance.

CX Powder is used for general skin disinfection and antiseptic use.

2.    Before you use CX Powder

Please read this section carefully before using CX Powder. If you have any questions please talk to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist before use.

Do not use CX Powder:

If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Chlorhexidine salts.

Using other medicines

There are no known interactions with other medicines. However, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

No special precautions need to be taken if you are pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant or breast-feeding.

3.    How to use CX Powder

Apply a light dusting of the powder to the affected area. Use no more than 3 times in a day.

Do not take the product internally. If CX Powder is accidentally taken internally contact your doctor or go to your nearest accident and emergency department Immediately.

Chlorhexidine salts may cause irritation to the eyes, broken skin and sensitive areas. If you accidentally get CX Powder in your eyes or onto broken skin and sensitive areas, rinse immediately with clean water. If the irritation remains contact your doctor or nearest accident and emergency department immediately.

There are no known side-effects with this medicine.

If you get any side-effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme, Website: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard. By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5.    How to store CX Powder

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the carton and label. Store below 25°C and protect from light.

Once opened, use within 14 days. Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist howto dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What CX Powder contains

•    The active substance is Chlorhexidine Acetate BP 1% w/w.

•    The other ingredient is sterilisable maize starch.

What CX Powder looks like and the contents of the pack

CX Powder is a white dusting powder.

CX Powder is packed in plastic bottles fitted with a nozzle and white plastic cap. Each pack contains 15g of powder.
