1. WHAT ECZEDERM CREAM IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

The name of your medicine is Eczederm Cream.

It contains the active ingredients white soft paraffin and liquid paraffin.

Eczederm Cream is a moisturising and protecting cream (an emollient). It helps to soothe, smooth and hydrate the skin and prevents moisture loss.

Eczederm Cream is used to treat red, inflamed, damaged, dry or chapped skin in adults and children, and to protect raw skin areas.

If you suffer from eczema and your skin is dry, the cream can be applied before having a bath to prevent your skin from drying any further.

Eczederm Cream can also be used during or after treatment with topical steroid creams, gels or ointments. Eczederm Cream may reduce the need to use steroid products (it provides a steroid-sparing effect). p2    p3

Do not use Eczederm Cream if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin or any of the other ingredients. Tell your nurse, doctor or pharmacist so that they can give you or your child an alternative medicine.

Important Information about cetostearyl alcohol:

This cream contains cetostearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

3. HOWTO USE ECZEDERM CREAM

Always use Eczederm Cream exactly as your nurse, doctor or pharmacist has told you. You should check with them if you are not sure.

Eczederm Cream is for external use only.

Unless you have been given different advice, apply the cream thinly to cover the affected area completely, massaging gently and thoroughly into the skin. Your nurse, doctor or pharmacist will tell you when, how often and for how long you should use the cream.

p4

If you forget to use Eczederm Cream at the right time, use the usual amount as soon as you remember, and then carry on as before.

If your condition worsens, or your symptoms persist beyond the period of treatment specified, you should consult your nurse, doctor or pharmacist.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, as well as benefits, Eczederm Cream can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
