This product is available without prescription; however, you still need to use this product carefully to get the best results from it.

1.    What this product is and what it is used for

This medicine contains:

•    bladderwrack thallus and extract of bladderwrack thallus

(Fucus vesiculosus L. or Fucus serratus L.)

A traditional herbal medicinal product used as an aid to slimming as part of a calorie controlled diet, based on traditional use only.

2.    Before you take this product

Do not take this product if you:

•    are allergic to any of the ingredients or to iodine (each tablet contains between

76 - 448 micrograms of iodine (see section 6))

•    have a thyroid gland disorder or are taking a medicine for a thyroid disorder

•    are under 18 years old or elderly

•    are taking any medicines or supplements containing iodine.


Pregnancy and breast feeding Do not take this product if you are pregnant or breast feeding, because there is no evidence that it is safe to do so. Taking other medicines: Tell your doctor before starting to take this medicine if you are taking any other medicines, including any bought without a prescription.

Each tablet contains sucrose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

3. How to take this product

For oral use. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew.

Adults: Take 1 tablet, three times a day, after a meal. This product must be used in conjunction with a calorie controlled diet and additional exercise.

Not recommended for use in children, adolescents under 18 years of age or the elderly.

Do not exceed the stated dose.

If symptoms worsen or persist, consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

What to do if you take too much:

If you take too many tablets by mistake contact your doctor or pharmacist straight away and take this leaflet with you.

What to do if you miss a dose:

If you miss a dose, take the next dose when it's due. Do not take a double dose to make up. If you are not sure what to do, consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.

4.    Possible side effects

Most people do not have any side effects while taking this medicine. Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects. Diarrhoea has been reported, although the frequency is not known. If your symptoms become serious or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

However, if you experience side effects, or anything unusual happens, stop taking the medicine immediately and see your doctor, pharmacist or qualified healthcare practitioner.

Reporting of side effects:

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5.    How to store this product

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not use these tablets after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Do not store above 25°C.

Store in the original container.

6. Further Information

Each tablet contains the active ingredients:

16 mg of extract (as dry extract) from Bladderwrack thallus (Fucus vesiculosus L. or Fucus serratus L.) (5:1). Extraction solvent: Water, 200 mg Bladderwrack thallus (Fucus vesiculosus L.)

The other ingredients are: sucrose, acacia gum, pregelatinised maize starch, maltodextrin, sodium starch glycolate, purified talc, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica.

This product is available in pack sizes of 30, 60, 100, 120 and 200 tablets.

Not all pack sizes are marketed.
