1.    What this product is and what it is used for

This product contains extracts of Bladderwrack, Burdock root and Ivy leaf. It is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to relieve symptoms in mild cases of water retention,, based on traditional use only.

2.    Before you take this product

Do not take this product if you are:

•    Under 18 years of age or elderly

•    Pregnant or breastfeeding

•    Allergic to the active substances, plants of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family such as daisies, marigolds or artichokes, plants of the Araliaceae family, iodine or to any of the excipients.

•    Suffering from a condition where a reduced fluid intake is recommended (e.g. heart or kidney disease).

•    Suffering from a thyroid disorder or taking any medicines for a thyroid disorder

•    Taking any other medicines or dietary supplements containing iodine or a diuretic medicine.

Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if:

-    You have a gastric ulcer or gastritis (inflammation of stomach lining).

-    You are taking any medicines to stop a cough (antitussives) such as codeine or dextromethorphan

-    You are taking any other medicines, including any bought without a prescription.

3. How to take this product

For oral use only

Adults: One to two tablets to be taken three times daily.

To ensure an increase of the amount of urine, adequate fluid intake is required during treatment.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Not recommended for use in children or adolescents under 18 years of age or the elderly.

If you experience fever, spasms, difficulty urinating or blood in your urine, consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner

Duration of use: If the symptoms persist for more than one week, a doctor or qualified health care practitioner should be consulted.

If you forget to take this product: Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose(s). Continue to take your usual dose at the usual time. It does not matter if you have missed a dose.

If you accidentally take too may tablets: Consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner and take this leaflet to show them. Overdose of this product can lead to thyroid disorders.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines Herbal Water Relief Tablets can have side effects. Possible side effects are:

•    Anaphylactic shock (serious allergic reaction which causes difficulty in breathing or dizziness).

•    Gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea

•    Allergic reactions such as urticaria (itchy rash) , skin rash, couperoses (red patches caused by broken cappilleries), breathlessness.

In cases of anaphylactic shock contact a Doctor or a qualified Healthcare Practitioner immediately. For other side effects, if these persist for more than a few days, or become troublesome, stop taking this product.

If other side effects not mentioned above occur, a doctor or qualified health care practitioner should be consulted.

5.    How to store this product

•    Keep the tablets in the bottle until it is time to take them

•    Do not take the tablets after the expiry date (see outer label)

•    Store the tablets below 25oC

•    Keep the bottle tightly closed

•    Keep the tablets out of sight and reach of children

About this product: This is a traditional herbal medicinal product that contains extracts of Bladderwrack, Burdock root and Ivy leaf.

Each tablet contains:

50mg of extract (as dry extract) from Bladderwrack fucus (Fucus vesiculosus L.) (1.7-3:1) Extraction solvent: Acidic Water

25mg of extract (as dry extract) from Burdock root (Arctium lappa L.) (2-4:1) Extraction solvent: Ethanol 70%v/v

25 mg of extract (as dry extract) from Ivy leaf (Glechoma hederacea L.) (6-7:1) Ethanol 40

%v/v

This product also contains the following inactive (excipient) ingredients: Calcium Phosphate Dibasic, Sago Flour, Magnesium Trisilicate, Stearic Acid, Ethylcellulose N100, Maltodextrin, Colloidal anhydrous silica.
