This medicine is available without prescription. However, you still need to use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient carefully to get the best results from it.

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient is a bath or shower additive - its combination of oils is designed to relieve itching, to lubricate and soften the skin and form a film on the skin surface to reduce moisture loss. It can also be used instead of soap.

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient is used to treat any condition in which dry skin is a feature such as eczema, ichthyosis (hereditary dry skin) and senile pruritus (itching that may occur in old age).

12.    Check before you use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient |

Do not use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient:

* if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to light liquid paraffin, isopropyl myristate or any of the ingredients of Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient (see section 6 Further information).

If the above applies to you, or if you are not sure, speak to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist before you use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient.

Using other msdlclnes

Tell your doctor, nurse or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used any other medicines which are applied to the skin as they may interfere with Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

It is safe to use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

13.    How to use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient    |

Always use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient exactly as your doctor has told you to. You should check with your doctor, nurse or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient is for external use only and should only be applied to the skin.

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient is particularly suitable for infants.

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient should always be either added to water or applied to wet skin.

Adults, elderly and children:

For use in the bath - Add 1-3 inner capfuls to a 20 centimetre (8 inch) bath of water. Soak for 10-15 minutes. Infants: Add Vfc-2 inner capfuls to a small bath of water.

For use in the shower - Pour a small quantity on to a wet sponge or flannel and rub on to wet skin. Rinse and pat dry.

Take care to avoid slipping in the bath or shower.

Avoid contact with the eyes, in the event of accidental contact rinse well with water.

What to do if you use more Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient than you should

If you use too much Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient wash off the excess with warm water.

If you forget to use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient

If you forget to use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient on any occasion, do not worry, just continue as normal.

If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

14.    Possible side effects    |

No side effects of Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient have been reported.

If your condition worsens or irritation, itch or rash occurs, stop treatment and consult your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard. By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

15.    How to store Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient    |

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Do not use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and bottle. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month after EXP.

Do not store above 30°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.

Do not use Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient if you notice a change in the colour or feel of the emollient.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist on how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help protect the environment.

What Is In Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient?

The active ingredients in this medicine are light liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate.

The other ingredients are C12-C14 alcohol with 3 molecules of ethylene oxide, polyol fatty acid ester and iso-octyl stearate.

What Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient looks like and contents of the pack

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient is a clear, colourless bath additive.

Hydromol Bath & Shower Emollient comes in plastic bottles of 25ml, 50ml,150ml, 200ml, 350ml, 500ml and 1 litre.

Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
