Pharmacodynamic Properties

KL One Minute Poultice possesses emollient properties. It provides heat and moisture locally to relieve pain and draw pus, if present, from a wound. It also exerts an osmotic effect, collecting fluid and toxic products at the site of application. A rubifacient or counter-irritant action may be obtained.

As an aid in the reduction of inflammation and to alleviate pain in horses

Not for use in horses intended for human consumption

5.8 Posology and Method of Administration

Hot

(Temperature of the Kaolin will then be approximately 88°C).

• Remove from water.

• Place on edge of flat surface (use table or plate) and cut around pouch with scissors.

• Take tip of scissors and lift edge of clear cover.

• REMOVE CLEAR COVER FROM POULTICE.

• Bandage to affected area.

• Retain for 12 to 24 hours according to veterinary advice.

Natural

• Place on edge of flat surface (use table or plate) and cut around pouch with scissors.

• Take tip of scissors and lift edge of clear cover.

• REMOVE CLEAR COVER FROM POULTICE.

• Bandage to affected area.

• Retain for 12 to 24 hours according to veterinary advice.

Cold

• Place in a fridge to chill to the required temperature.

• Remove from fridge.

• Place on edge of flat surface (use table or plate) and cut around pouch with scissors.

• Take tip of scissors and lift edge of clear cover.

• REMOVE CLEAR COVER FROM POULTICE.

• Bandage to affected area.

• Retain for 12 to 24 hours according to veterinary advice.
