✓ How to use the medicine

Take the suspension by mouth. SHAKE THE BOTTLE.

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years:

As an antacid

•    Take 1 or 2 x 5ml spoonfuls with a little water when required.

As a laxative

•    Take 5 to 10 x 5ml spoonfuls (25 - 50ml) in a glass of water at bedtime.

Do not give to children under 12 years old.

If constipation persists ask your doctor for advice.

! If you accidentally take too much

see a doctor straight away.

Possible side effects

May cause diarrhoea and colic.

If you have any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist.

What the medicine is for

Magnesium Hydroxide Mixture is an antacid, which in larger doses acts as a laxative.

Before you take the medicine....

X Do not use the medicine if you have..

•    An allergy to any of the ingredients listed.

   Severe kidney failure.

•    A severe stomach or bowel condition.

•    Or give to children under 12 years old.

' Talk to your doctor if you have..

•    Kidney or liver problems.

•    elde rly or weak as you may react diirerentiy to this medicine.

' Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines as antacids can interfere with their action....

•    You should avoid taking other medicines at the same time as this medicine if possible. Allow

3 hours between taking this and your other medicines to reduce the possibility of interaction. Talk to your doctor if unsure.

! Pregnant or breastfeeding Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Magnesium Hydroxide Mixture should not be used in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the doctor has told you to do so.

Storing the medicine

Do not store above 25°C. Do not allow to freeze. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Use by the date shown on the label.

Active ingredient per 5ml: magnesium hydroxide paste concentrated 1.325g.

Also contains: sodium benzoate (E211) and purified water.
