Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, dentist or pharmacist has told you. This medicine is available without prescription. However, you still need to use Medijel Pastilles carefully to get the best results.

1. WHAT MEDIJEL PASTILLES ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR
Medijel Pastilles contain the active ingredients lidocaine hydrochloride and aminoacridine hydrochloride.
Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic and aminoacridine hydrochloride is an antiseptic.
Medijel Pastilles provide quick effective relief from the pain of mouth ulcers, soreness of gums and denture rubbing.
Medijel Pastilles can be used by adults, the elderly and children.
2. BEFORE YOU USE MEDIJEL PASTILLES
Do not use Medijel Pastilles if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to lidocaine hydrochloride, aminoacridine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Medijel Pastilles contain sucrose and glucose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
It is unclear whether this product is safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The potential risks are unknown. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines
Medijel Pastilles are not known to affect your ability to drive or use machinery.
3. HOW TO USE MEDIJEL PASTILLES For adults, the elderly and children:
Place pastilles in mouth against affected area and let it dissolve slowly. Repeat as necessary.
If you take more Medijel Pastilles than you should overdose of the active ingredients is unlikely to occur because of the low concentrations and small pack size.
If you forget to take Medijel Pastilles do not worry just carry on using them when you remember.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Medijel Pastilles can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. On rare occasions, hypersensitivity reactions to lidocaine hydrochloride and aminoacridine hydrochloride can occur, involving wheezing or shortness of breath.
Seek urgent medical attention if you experience these symptoms. If you experience any other symptoms not mentioned in this leaflet, stop using the product and tell your doctor, dentist or pharmacist.

5. HOW TO STORE MEDIJEL PASTILLES
Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use Medijel Pastilles after the expiry date shown on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
6. FURTHER INFORMATION What Medijel Pastilles contain:
The active ingredients are lidocaine hydrochloride 0.25%w/w and aminoacridine hydrochloride 0.025%w/w.
The other ingredients are hydroxypolyethoxydodecane, gelatin, liquid glucose, sucrose, peppermint oil, levomenthol, ethyl vanillin, standard green SE 142, dextrose monohydrate and water.
What Medijel Pastilles look like and contents of the pack
Medijel Pastilles are turquoise blue soft pastilles with a peppermint and vanilla flavour. Medijel Pastilles are available in cartons containing 30g of pastilles.
