Supa Slim Tablets

Read all of this leaflet carefully before you start taking this medicine because it contains

important information for you.

•    Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed in this leaflet or as your doctor, qualified healthcare practitioner or pharmacist has told you.

•    Keep this leaflet. You may need to read it again.

•    Ask your pharmacist if you need more information or advice.

•    You must contact a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner if your symptoms worsen or do not improve.

1.    What Supa Slim Tablets are and what they are used for

This medicine contains the active ingredient extract of fucus. This is a plant extract.

Supa Slim is a traditional herbal medicinal product used as an aid to slimming as part of a calorie controlled diet, based on traditional use only.

2.    Before you take Supa Slim Tablets Do not take Supa Slim Tablets if:

•    You are allergic to fucus, or to iodine or to any of the other ingredients listed in section 6 of this leaflet

•    You are pregnant or breast-feeding

•    You are elderly or under 18 years old

•    You have any problems with your thyroid

If any of the above applies to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Take special care with Supa Slim Tablets Taking other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Do not take this medicine if you are taking any other anticoagulant medicine, such as warfarin or heparin.

Do not take this medicine if you are taking other medicines or dietary supplements containing iodine. Fucus contains naturally occurring iodine.

Do not take if you are taking any medicines for thyroid problems.

Pregnancy & breast-feeding

This medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding. If you are pregnant or are breast feeding please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Driving and using machines

There are no known effects on driving or using machines.

Other important information

This medicine contains 86.7 mg lactose (a sugar) and 109 mg sucrose (a sugar) per tablet. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine

3. How to take Supa Slim Tablets

Always this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, qualified healthcare practitioner or pharmacist has told you

Adults

Take 1 tablet three times a day.

Take Supa Slim Tablets as part of a calorie-controlled diet and with extra excercise.

If you take more Supa Slim Tablets than you should

If you accidently take too much of your medicine, tell your doctor, or contact your nearest hospital casualty department. Take your medicine, and this leaflet with you.

If you forget to take a dose of Supa Slim Tablets

If you forget to take a dose of your medicine, take the dose as soon as you remember unless it is nearly the time for the next dose, then carry on as taking it as before. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you have missed.

4.    Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Supa Slim Tablets can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

May cause diarrhoea. The frequency is unknown.

If you notice any other side effects, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5.    How to store Supa Slim Tablets

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and labels. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Store below 25 °C. Store in the original packaging.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Return any medicine you no longer need to your pharmacist.

6. Contents of the pack and other information What Supa Slim Tablets contain

Each tablet contains 40 mg extract (as dry extract) from Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus L.)(5:1) (equivalent to 200 mg Bladderwrack, Extraction solvent: water.

The tablet also contains: sucrose, lactose, calcium phosphate, purified talc, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, powdered acacia, shellac, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide (E171), and white beeswax.

What Supa Slim Tablets look like and contents of the pack

The tablets are white, round, biconvex, and sugar coated.

Supa Slim Tablets are supplied in packs of 21,30, 45, 50, 60, 84, 100, or 180 tablets.

It is supplied either in amber glass bottles or a polyethylene container with a plastic screw cap. Not all pack sizes may be available.
