NUPERCAINAL OINTMENT CINCHOCAINE HYDROCHLORIDE
This leaflet is provided to give you infonnation about Nupercainal and what you should know to use it correctly.
Please read carefully WHAT IS NUPERCAINAL?
The name of your medicine is Nupercainal ointment, It is used to treat pain and discomfort caused by haemorrhoids (piles), anal and nipple fissures (crack or tear).
WHAT DOES NUPERCAINAL CONTAIN?
Nupercainal ointment contains an active ingredient called Cinchocaine Hydrochloride 1.1% w/w, which is a local anaesthetic pain reliever. it also contains inactive ingredients: Purified Water BP 10.0% w/w, Anhydrous Lanolin BP 39.0% w/w,White Soft Paraffin BP 30.0% w/w, Liquid Paraffin BP 19.82% w/w, Palmarosa Oil Terpeneless 0.06% w/w, Neroli Oil 8324 0.02% w/w.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Do not use in weeping and inflamed skin conditions or if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
UNDESIRABLE SIDE EFFECTS:
May cause allergic or hypersensitive reactions.
HOW TO USE NUPERCAINAL OINTMENT
Wash the affected area with tepid water, dry and apply a small amount of Nupercainal ointment. If preferred use the applicator for the anal region. Attach the applicator to the tube and lubricate with a little ointment. Wash nozzle with soap and water after each application. Do not apply more than three times daily. If using this product to treat haemorrhoids, please wash your hands before and after using this ointment.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF AN OVERDOSE?
If you accidentally swallow or use too much ointment, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS AND OTHER SPECIAL WARNINGS
If symptoms persist or if you notice anything unusual consult your doctor. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Nupercainal should be used for short periods (no longer than a few days) in order to prevent sensitisation of the anal skin.
HOW SHOULD YOU STORE YOUR MEDICINE?
Protect from heat. Do not store above 30oC.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date shown on the side of the tube, or if the seals are tampered with.
