What the medicine is for
Salicylic Acid Ointment helps the outer layers of skin to peel and shed where it is applied.
Before you use the medicine....
X Do not use the medicine if you or your child have..
• An allergy to any of the ingredients listed especially salicylates.
! Pregnant or breastfeeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Salicylic Acid Ointment should not be used in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the doctor has told you to do so.
! Important ingredient information
• This product contains wool alcohols (lanolin) which may cause local skin reactions e.g. contact dermatitis.
✓ How to use the medicine
Apply to the skin.
• Avoid contact with broken or inflamed skin.
• Avoid applying other medicines to the same area of skin at the same time.
Adults, the elderly and children:
• Unless otherwise directed by the doctor apply to the affected area twice a day.

! If you accidentally swallow some see a
doctor straight away.
Possible side effects
May cause allergic reactions • Dry skin
• Skin irritation.
Application to large areas of skin or to the skin
of newborn infants may cause
Dizziness • Deafness • Hearing disturbance.
If you notice these or any other side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do.

Storing the medicine
Do not store above 25°C.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Use by the date shown on the label.
Active ingredient: salicylic acid 2% w/w.
Also contains: wool alcohols, hard paraffin, liquid paraffin, and white petroleum jelly.
