Zinc & *Castor Oil * Ointment



(Zinc Oxide, Virgin Castor Oil)

For symptomatic relief of nappy rash, and as a protective water-resistant cream for dry, chapped skin.

What the medicine is for

Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment contains zinc oxide, a mild antiseptic and astringent for the skin, and castor oil which helps soften dry, hard and chapped skin.

Before you use the medicine....

Do not use the medicine if you or your child have..

• An allergy to refined arachis oil (peanut oil), soya, or any other ingredients listed.

! Talk to your doctor if..

You or your child are having an x-ray, as this medicine may mask x-ray pictures.

! Pregnant or breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment should not be used, unless the doctor has told you to do so.


! Important ingredient information

• This medicine contains cetostearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

It also contains refined arachis oil (peanut oil).

If you are allergic to peanuts or soya do not use this product.

How to use the medicine

If separation of the ointment occurs, re-mix before use. Apply the ointment to the skin. Adults, the elderly and children: Apply to the affected skin up to four times a day or at each nappy change.

! If you accidentally swallow some see a doctor straight away.

Possible side effects There are no known side effects from using Zinc and Castor Oil Ointment as directed. If you notice any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do.

Storing the medicine Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of the

sight and reach of children. Use by the date shown on the label.

Active ingredients: zinc oxide 7.5%w/w, virgin    ^

castor oil 50.0%w/w.

Also contains: refined arachis oil (peanut oil), cetostearyl alcohol, white beeswax (E901).
