Bonjela is a clear; afmost colourless gel which's ; applied to the nside of the mouth or gums. It contains choline salicylate (a pain killei anc anti-inflammatory) wnich soothes so*e areas in the; mouth and an antiseptic called cetalkonium chloride, which kills bacteria and helps prevent infection.

Bonjela is intended for adults and children over the age of 16,

2. BEFORE YOU USE BONJELA

As with all medicines, Bonjela may not be suitable' for everybody, ;

Do not

•    give to children or adolescents under 16 years of age, This is because there is a possible link between salicylates and Reye's syndrome when given to children, Reye’s syndrome is a very rare; disease which affects the brain and liver and can be fatal.

•    use if you are suffering from a stomach ufeer

•    use if you are Allergic to salicylates or to any of | the other ingredients in this product

Taking other medicines Salicylates may iperease the effect of blood thinning medicines (anticoagulants! and can decrease the effect of medicines to treat gout (uricosurics) such as probemc acd, benzbromarone,!

Speak to your pharmacist or doctor befe'e taking ; this product with other medicines.

3. HOW TO USE BONJELA

For adults and children over the age of 16 years only,

- Mouth ulcers and sores

Massaqe approximately one centimetre (half an inch) of 8onje|a onto tire sore area, This car be repeated after 3 hours,

• Denture sores

Massage approximately one centimetre of Bonjela onto the sore area, ana leave at least 30 m'nutes before renseHing the dentures, Do not apply Bonjela directly onto the dentures,

Do not exceed the stated dose as salicylate toxicity may occur as a result.

If your symptoms do rot go away after 7 days of treatment, you should see your doctor or dentist,

In the case of a missed dose, simply apply a new dose and follow the instructions described above. In the event of an overdose, seek medical advice.

4. POSSIBLE SDE EFFECTS

Like all mecicines, Bonjela can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them,

Allergic reactions to salicylates such as an asthma attack may occur.

5. HOW TO STORE BONJELA

What Bonjela contains

The act ve ingredients (which make the medicine i work) are chclinfc salicylate 8.714% wAv, cetalkonium chlphde 0,0' % wAv, The other ingredients are ethanol, glycerol, menthol, hypromellose- 45p0, Star Anise Oil, sodium saccharn and water.
