Glycerol, Ipecacuanha Liquid Extract

Gently eases coughs & sore throats

For symptomatic re..ef of coughs and sots throats.    •    ••    •

Take the solution by mouth.

Adults, the elderly anu children over 12 years: iake 2 x 5ml spoonfuls.

Repeat every 4 hours if required, but not more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

Do not give to children under 12 years old. DO NOT EXCEED THE STATED DOSE.

If symptoms persist for more than five days consult your doctor.

Do not take with other cough or cold medicines.

Not suitable for diabetics.

Active ingredients per 5ml:

glycerol 1.36g, ipecacuanha liquid extract 0.01ml.

Also contains amongst other ingredients: sucrose 1.7g and liquid glucose 280mg per 5ml dose.

This medicine contains glycerol, to soothe the throat. It also contains Ipecacuanha to help loosen phlegm. It coats the throat and relieves the symptoms of coughs and sore throats.

1. before you use this medicine

Do not use the medicine if you have....

•    An allergy to any of the ingredients listed in section 3.

•    Shock.

•    Heart or blood circulation problems.

•    A risk of seizure.

•    Or in children under 12 years old.

ATalk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have..

•    Diabetes.

This medicine is not suitable for people with diabetes. Your pharmacist can help find an alternative product which is more suited to the needs of diabetic people.

Pregnant or breastfeeding..

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Glycerin Lemon & Honey with Glucose & Ipecacuanha should not be used in pregnancy unless the doctor has told you to do so.

Important ingredient information • This product contains 3.4g of sucrose per 10ml dose. To be taken into account in people with diabetes. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

2. Possible side effects

There are no known side effects from using this medicine when used as directed.

If you notice any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do.

3. Further information

Alt you accidentally take too much see a doctor straight away. Take the pack with you to show which medicine you have swallowed.

•    Do not use after the expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

•    Return any unused medicine to the pharmacy for disposal.

The active ingredients per 5ml are: glycerol (E422) 1.36g, ipecacuanha liquid extract 0.01ml.

The other ingredients are: honey, lemon essence, lemon juice, citric acid monohydrate (E330), sucrose, purified water and liquid glucose.

What the medicine looks like

Glycerin Lemon & Honey with Glucose & Ipecacuanha is a pale straw coloured syrupy liquid.

It is supplied in 200ml bottles.
