What the medicine is for

Sainsbury’s Haemorrhoid Relief Suppositories relieve the pain and irritation of piles. They contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to relieve the pain and allantoin to help heal the affected area. Before you use Sainsbury’s Haemorrhoid Relief Suppositories X Do not use the medicine if you have....

•    An allergy to any of the ingredients.

! Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have....

•    Persistent pain or bleeding from the anus especially if your bowel habits have changed.

•    A swollen stomach.

•    Lost weight without dieting.

! Pregnant or breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmadst for advice before using this medicine

if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding.

If used whilst breastfeeding, lidocaine, one of the active ingredients, can be absorbed and pass into breast milk.

✓How to use the medicine

•    Wash your hands before and after use. • If necessary empty the bowels before use. • Remove the protective film before use by tearing the strip at the notch or by cutting around the suppository.

•    Insert the suppository as deep as possible into the rectum. Adults, 12 + years: Insert one suppository at night and in the morning after emptying the bowels.

Do not use for children unless your doctor tells you to. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days ask your doctor for advice.

! If you accidentally swallow some see a doctor straight away.

Possible side effects

May cause allergic reactions (e.g. rash, itching, wheezing) or diarrhoea. If you have any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not store above 25°C.
